Rebuilding Again!

Been trying to find our thorplife site lately? The on/off nature of the site has been compliments of Carson.

Recently I took a trip Dallas. While I was away Kelly and her parents decided to surprise me and move our playroom back to the loft. Thank you sweetie for all your hard work! The basic idea behind the move was so we could have a true guest room again. Something we needed to restore, but with a 1 and 3 year old, who really wants to spend the night with us?

One slight glitch to the system. The loft was the server room. The server, DSL router, Apple Extreme router, and a slew of other technical gadgets are all protected by a battery backup. Turns out a battery backup is not toddler friendly. To be precise the vertical unit I purchased is alluring to toddlers. If placed in an open cabinet, the on/off button is the perfect height for small toddler fingers. Push! Off goes the server, down goes the internet connection. Push! Internet connection restoring, server starting up . . . Push! Off again.

And endless cycle of On/Off accompanied by the parental “PLEASE STOP!” and a smiling precious toddler lead me to cry Uncle.
